A double ridge helmet dated around 6thC BC, excavated from a burial in Austria. This Hallstatt type helmet was worn mainly by Celts and Etruscans and had two small hooks front and back to hold a crest between the ridges. Now in the natural history museum, Vienna.

I ride with a helmet because I tend to zone out sometimes and sometimes I go pretty fast. But it should be optional, because not everyone is like me.
