He is my favorite SNK/KOF artist, but not only limited to these games. His work on God Hand, Spikeout, Uppers, Street Fighter IV, Advance Wars and Soul Calibur VI is outstanding too!

did some more proportioning and can see that:
-The shoulders are too big
-The upper legs are too slim
-The head is still too big
-the chest front needs to be more spread out
-The waist skirt needs to be bigger

The Mannequin is a given. Same business, waist down is normal but its the upper half that's messed up. I love the renders for them bc they clearly resemble a dancer in motion.

Decided to crop the drawing in the upper part. As a sketch, it looked nice... But, the more i painted on that area, the less i liked it.
So i think it looks better this way. It gives another feeling to it that the full version wasn't giving to me.

it's honestly kind of amazing how after 3 years part of my ref for meredith still doesn't look bad at all. like the upper half is very "oh dear that's old art", but the clothing folds and shading in the bottom half is almost perfect. and this was before i had pen pressure, too.

i shouldve tho >:c i still cant get the hang of refs. i just hate how i cant find a good ref for the pose i want 90% of the time. and i dont like picking the ref first even tho i should
