unfortunately, i don't know much about places to get those brushes, but what i did here for example (and hopefully this does help) is to make the grass have subtle lines and have some linework over the character. So as i like to think of it as hair

I've just finished reworking this called "Learning to Dance".

And I love how the richness of the background comes out now, kind of park-like...it's actually crushed leaves, glued onto paper before scanning.
