By creating many layers and then destroying them with another application of paint, the background seems that have been thru severe destruction itself. Palette knives, brushes were used to create depth and texture. The atmospheric pespective was created by gradated colors.

Even better when one of your players is constantly fiddling with something or slamming a coin on a table while they talk. Discord's background filter renders it completely inaudible but Audacity's raw mic input does not. Such fun to edit 🥴
