A reason why Benizakura was so fun when i first watched is not only 'cause I went into Gintama blindly, but also 'cause I had low expectations in terms of action, since I always knew it to be comedy.

Yagyu/Fuyo arc type of seriousness is the max I expected, but not beyond that.

I finally read THE GROT, the latest comic by , who made another personal favourite Blue (possibly the best Australian comic ever?). The Grot is a huge step up in terms of narrative and character, a massive adventure with a tonne of actually good Australian humour.

So hey, this was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I know the word has turned into a punchline but it felt like a genuinely discursive work, as much about Jefferson as Ridley's own feelings towards the DCU in general and coming to terms with them. Good stuff.
