In the belly of the beast, Khang & co. really brought my staging to life with their amazing design and color sense. At first I wanted to stage this completely in the dark, to emphasize the need for Mao Mao's special glowing sword, but staging stuff in darkness gets complicated!

Here I sketch out the animation in simple-to-draw guides and imagine how the final product would look. The various apparatus in that area need a unifying style in how they look AND how they move. The movement style i wanted to go for was "complicated".
