By Pokemon Journeys, it seems like a transitioning period as they don't fully implement elements of SwSh's story into the anime. And with the introduction of several original characters to join Ash's company, along with new setting elements, it's clear that a big change is afoot.

I'm just mulling and speculating here, but seeing all these original characters -- none of them derived from anyone from the games -- feels like that Pokemon Horizons wants little to no plans in adapting any of the storylines from the games themselves and be its own thing.
