I am trying to redraw something from 2015, but idk if I can. Here it is for reference:
From late 2015, modern Sonic in the sprite style of classic Sonic.
A concept for a hack that fell short early on.
The second sprite was for Sonic Classic Heroes for a "Team Sonic", but they liked the idea of Boom Sonic instead so I offered the s1boomed sheet.
Just wanted to look back on my art throughout these last few years. Sometimes I find it hard to see that I've improved, but this makes me feel a bit better.

I can say from personal experience that my process has significantly slowed down as my art has improved. My art from 2012, 2015, 2019, and today shows that. What used to take me only 2 hours to make now takes at least 5 hours if I’m lucky, and that’s just simple character art.
If anyone needs any motivation today or doubts the amount of skill it takes to do digital art, friendly reminder that it took me a good 2-3 YEARS to figure out how to DRAW LINES. LINES. This is what my lineart looked like in 2015, 2017, and 2019 😭

One of the most important milestones in my own artistic development I believe was my shift away from linework to looser, rougher sketches, it sort of crystallising towards 2018. You can kind of see the difference in sketchiness between a piece of mine from 2015, and then 2018.
