I was getting frustrated with painting in grayscale. So I just started to banging color into it, more out of anger than anything else, I was pleasantly surprised by the effect.

is an Illustrator and concept artist that has done work for IDW including the Steven Universe and Sonic Comics. (hey, I love all those!)

She was incredibly generous letting me use art from her SMRPG comic as a poster, even cleaning it up for large scale. Thank you!

Initially I just wanted to rework the hair of my last post, but I didn’t think it warranted a post of its own so I decided to do some basic colour work. Two versions are provided here: Color and grey scale.

my goal is to recreate elements of the Digimon World series to scale. I am most focused on palette swaps, outdated designs (Cherrymon), non-Digimon characters, or other elements unique to the World series

Sailor Anchovy

Tried out a new technique of using gradient maps over greyscale. Not entirely satisfied with the result but that might just be me not having enough practice yet.

So, 2 months ago I posted this drawing.
I took measurements of nendorids and made this drawing on that scale. Like a month later I bought a ton of plasticine, not the best material but it's ok for the first time I think.
Today, I made the Mayumi Nendoroid.
Let's see how it went.

So in mugen most of the character from arc sys games have huge sprites that have to scaled down a fuck ton to be playable, so I decided to see what would happen if I put one at 1:1 scale. It ended up being so huge you can't even see the head when crouching

Anomalocarid-class engagement unit.

More stuff for the biomech setting. Not all of them would be based on cambrian creatures, but the Cambrian Explosion is a great source of Weird Designs.

Human presented for scale.

I never understand if we’re going for cuteness or sexyness on this scale...
We’ll just go with normal art for now X3

I think I've figured out my approach to going from greyscale to color. I found an overlay layer to get the colors i want when painting over the greyscale. at least enough to start with. Still have a lot to refine with the process tho.

Been working on designing a character. It's a bit tricky because they're made of water and I'm using grey-scale. It's fun though :>

I feel dumb, but what emotion is this? :'D
Like, I can't tell if it's embarrassment or thinking a character is 'hot' or 'cute' or what. xD
That being said, I do wonder where Gàxareh would end up on on this mysterious scale.
