Most enemies from the first #DKC were replaced by different enemies that served similar functions in DKC2, but the Zinger was present for both titles. They did for some reason decide to give it a subtly different design in 2 though, which many players might have overlooked.

More speculation,but maybe Ranbob was Enderwalking after all. Hes closer in resemblance to “normal” enderman, the violent response to the human players (instinct) as well as his idolization of dream, its very possible that it wasn’t the “awake” ranbob that killed our protagonists
