I think I finally found out what the live action AoT movies are trying to be. They're not really interested in being an adaption of Attack on Titan. It's actually trying to be a love letter to old school tokusatsu films, and simply uses AoT as a conduit for being said love letter

I first discovered the world of Granblue Fantasy back in 2017, with the anime adaption produced by A-1 pictures. I remember watching roughly 8 episodes, enjoying it somewhat, but ultimately not finishing it due to how "generic" it was. I didn't know the game existed!!!

It’s a 7/10 story with some cool elements like the crystal covered monsters and something used besides mana called aether. Also just another genderbender and those don’t get adapted too often. I’m surprised his other series VRMMO academy didn’t get an anime. It’s better 4 sure.
