Sketch vs. final
My sketches are...quite messy. I usually do anywhere from 1-5 "cleaner" sketch layers over the initial sketch, esp. if I can't figure something out. It's rare that I still have the initial sketch layer like this because I frequently merge sketch passes as I go

Initially I wasn't hugely in favour of NB. I would've loved a return of #Kappa, for obvious reasons. They were mentioned early on, but it would've been a complicated deal. Adidas have history too, while there was also talk of Puma, & both have been doing good stuff lately.
I have to confess that I had never heard of the commercial illustrator Victor Ambrus, who has just died at the age of 91, but his art adorned so many of the books of my childhood. Indeed, it was probably the initial reason I read many of them
