These were all pieces that challenged me in one way or another, from unfamiliar subject matter to trying (and failing) to achieve certain feelings or a difficulty with interacting elements. I'm not happy with them in some aspects but they were great for learning!

The Marble Seat (1865). The most noticeable aspect of Moore’s depiction of women is that he paints women as goddesses & cyphers. There is no sexual objectification but neither is there empathy or sensuality. It’s as if Classical statues have come to life.

I love how he captured moments in time, aspects of a figure. His paintings often don't feel like posed portraits to me, they feel more natural. I love that.

Miras esos vestidos y casi puedes sentir el tacto suave y frío del raso, e igual ocurre con el tapizado del sofá o el papel de pared.

(Deduzco que es raso por el aspecto ya que, según he estado leyendo, el raso original de seda 100% tiene un aspecto casi idéntico al sintético).
