Holy crap, is Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana ever a long JRPG! I've reached the final chapter, and I swear I've had to put 50 - 60 hours into this game, which is surprising, since Ys games are normally 30 - 40 hours at absolute tops. This may be the best game in the series to me.
