My favorite version of the Firebird is the Slavic Where a magical feather summons a Firebird! One that casts a sleeping spell & tells our hero how to destroy the villian. By throwing the egg (where the soul resides); breaking it, & the curse!

Some magical birds by Arthur Rackham for you all today (circa 1906-15). Somehow, with his fairy-tale eye, he made these feathered friends seem enchanted, unique, & wise all at the same time. ☺️🪶💕

1⃣So if you've followed me for a while & seen my rants you know I am a VERY opinionated & passionate guy. I have ruffled some feathers to be sure. One of those subjects I am vehement about is the RE-construction of Superheroes. That's what I'm trying to do with

Pepper the Dragon lady.

A feathered dragon that prefers a human form and to live among them!
Comes from a powerful family, and is able to breathe ice instead of fire (making her hands and face absurdly cold)

Also has a loving gf!

Bee bow and winged arrows! Tubbos long range weapons. The bow once again has a black and yellow gripper, and is inspired by bee legs, while the arrows have their feathers replaced with wings

Don´t be afraid of strange colours! They often look wrong at the beginning but it gets better with each layer.
I do the brightest colour at the end, so the face is next (and not the white/light grey feather parts).I drew wrinkels with a soft brush & smoothed the edges with eraser

Im such a simp for this nerd. I see them as a little sibling to the other Swords, with the whole “Im gonna save my family!” attitude the one Keldeo had in the movie, and having the three little feathers, one for each Sword’s main color, is a small yet good detail. Love em

Five minutes to comb over three bed hair/feather syndromes. Clumsy nun really drew the short end of the stick here. Or I say she did, but I'm assuming she and chili just slept in.
