Raw AI output is not the future for pro artists. AI output as reference / hybrid is.

I may still be a small artist, but I remember EVERY person whose commissioned me. EVERYONE who does/used to like every post. People who leave kind comments. I cannot stress enough how much these small actions bring joy to artists. It makes me proud to be an artist.

Midjourney created the portrait, and I tweaked it to make it look finished. But I can't call this kind of art real, because any artificial intelligence learns from the work of living artists. And so far, in my opinion, that's a high level of plagiarism. But maybe I'm wrong.

By calling genuinely nice looking stuff "soulless" or "ugly," they're calling anyone with a similar style's art bad too.

People can hate on it for 'stealing' art, but I REALLY feel criticizing how pretty AI stuff looks as much as people are is actually hurtful to real artists.
