Played a wee bit of Dig Dug on the C64 the other day. It's one of those early conversions that was quite faithfully done (as far as I can remember.. 🤔 Damn, now I want to go back to the arcade version to verify that.) 😋 This and Mr Do feel like they hatched from the same brain.

I was playing through this just a couple of days ago. It's quite a good conversion. Controls are a little finicky. (I think they should have cut down the number of moves.) But I like these later-era C64 games with overlaid sprites. They look so beautiful and cartoon-y. 😎

With Ava, I ended up deciding to convert her battle outfit to formal clothes and tweak the outcome a . The biggest conversion change was that I shortened the cape.

Then I changed the hairstyle a bit.

The charm on her neck is a carry over from an earlier design.

I wish I'd ever seen this game in the arcades. I think I would have had a lot of fun for it. 🤔 But for me, it's a lot like Green Beret: I played the C64 conversion for many years. Eventually found the arcade game, and went "huh, this isn't so hard now, is it?" 😋
