“So fun to see how these ideas evolved and changed through production, teams and directors... Books like this make staying at home a little easier. Here's one I did of Kylo trying to sort things out.” - @ILMVFX art director Chris Voy #TheRiseOfSkywalker

One of the things we’re doing over at the Forum is a “Postcard Critique”.
👉Workshop your postcard with us and other illustrators (for free, mind you) before sending it to art directors and agents!

I’m a little sad to hear Yuasa has retired (happened March 25th) seeing as he’s one of my fave directors/creators & someone I talk about with so much love, but honestly...good for him deciding to rest for awhile before his next move. Burnout isn’t worth it. Thanks for everything!
Hello, directors! Your icons of your favorite characters are finally here!!! A very special guest is here to present all directors with their icons, so be sure to check them out at the link below! We're sure it's EVERYTHING you wanted!!

Seiya Numata was one of a dozen animation directors credited on MagiReco today and so I was reminded of some of his best work on Futakoi Alt #11, an episode that's mostly forgotten at this point sadly
#AnimeBacklogRecommendations:
ADR Director @MikeMcFarlandVA:
Mike McFarland is truly a Titan among directors. Many iconic anime shows & movies have been placed in his masterful hands, & if you’ve experienced the dubs he directed, you understand why. Here are some of my faves.
Thank you to all the #illustrators, #animators and #visual artists who are coming through with last minute creative solutions during these tough times. Thank you! 💕
— Art directors across the world
Inspired by the 40 Days to Learn Film video by @markcousinsfilm, I decided to share some cool drawings made by various film directors. 👨🏻🎨🎬
Starting with Federico Fellini.
@foxville_art Hi there! I’ve sent postcards, stickers , business cards and sometimes illustrate the envelopes to art directors too.
@kyletwebster Thank you Kyle 😊 and thanks to all the #artdirectors who are looking for artists at this time 💐
📣 Art directors for online magazines and resources: I’m a freelance visual artist and illustrator who works remote and would be glad to design your editorials as my income will be mostly dependant on you from April. I do 3D and digital painting. Please consider hiring me
(2/9) Greta Gerwig! My fav & most meaningful film I’ve seen in 2020 is Little Women. Her masterful retelling made it even more relevant. Greta’s brilliant & equal in skill/talent to her male peers. can’t wait to see girls step into directing roles bc of women directors like her✨
🏅CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS 🏅
Well done to @cmykait & @Nico_Paws whose beautiful illustrations were selected as the winners of our Designers’ Choice Competition this March, now under new Creative Directors Lisa & Louise 💙

Born on Feb.29, the most handsome of film directors: #WilliamWellman. He may not be as celebrated as Hitchcock or Ford yet he made some unforgettable movies: Wings, Public Enemy, Safe In Hell, Roxie Hart, The OxBow Incident, Beau Geste and the screwball masterpiece Nothing Sacred
The Full Lid - 28th February 2020 - The evolving astronaut mythos! Star Trek, myth and memory! #WiHM directors including @IssitaLopez and @StardustChelsea! @escapepodcast anthology announced! Brain stuff! https://t.co/VpfiB8Us3f
I wanted to give some appreciation for Chris Sanders. One of my favorite directors working in animation, he's started off as a storyboard artist at Disney working on films like Beauty and the Beast before directing Lilo and Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods.
Happiest of heavenly birthdays to one of my favourite directors
TERENCE FISHER
His contribution to Hammer and the larger horror community is incalculable. He showed that horror could be colourful & beautifully lit, but still sinister & sexy. Four of my faves:
I just watched the directors cut of ‘MidSommar’. I really enjoyed it but it was slightly disturbing to say the least, so now I’m going to relax tonight with ‘The Curse of La Llorona’ 👻
Happy spooky Saturday everyone 😁👍💀
