Im westen haben wir folgende Lesehierarchie: Zuerst horizontal, dann vertikal. In Japan liest man aber erst vertikal. Was man selbst als Macher präferiert ist egal. Hauptsache man findet Tricks das klar dem Leser zu vermitteln. So haben wir das damals mit Lettering gelöst:

using word bubbles to guide the reader is a great tool. In your example I actually read it out of order the first time and tried to figure out why. I think the bubble in the middle causes a cross road where you have to "double back" to read the next bubble? Lettering is hard.

i see! i use procreate myself, and although there is a text function i personally am a hand-lettering person, so it may just be a matter of different ways to go about it!
when i mentioned changing the orientation to fit the sentence better this is what i meant! (just played w it)
