fun fact: I actually use about 5~ more sketches however I wanted to use the roughest (lightly shown) together with the first one that shows what idea I settled on

I absolutely love how Sakura's movie outfit is also tied to her character progression:
A modest white dress followed by pure blackness, ending with a nice mix of B&W to symbolize someone that overcame her own darkness.

I might have to do a video time-lapse at some point to document my cursed workflow, never really considered just how much progression is made in certain pieces until I showed some friends these shots, must just go blind from staring at them for so long I guess.

The original progression. I did the GBC style render not as a step back but as a practice of that color system and to see if I could represent the scene even in a more "8-bit" like feel.

26. hyper light drifter - the aesthetic of this game was phenomenal, and the progression provides a good challenge. i loved its reliance on environmental storytelling but did think the narrative and level design were a bit needlessly obtuse at times. 7/10

I sorta expected this kind of progression for Don Quixote's Ascensions, but I thought it would be the other way around

instead we have him going from the gallant knight in his head to the crazy old man he really is, as if waking from his delusions like he did before his death
