I just did some digging, apparently it’s artwork made by American artist Mort Kunstler. He worked in some Men adventure magazines from the 50s to 70s so this along with these ones he also made are covers illustrations that he made. He literally drawn with a straight face.

Was thinking of maybe redesigning Loon Pit. One of the side effects of his ink powers is that it makes dark spots the body. So I thought of giving him “Ink splatters” across his face. May or may not go with this look, we’ll see

Like the mother in this original image, I cannot take my eyes off the babe. They’re my focal point. Her gaze, her arm lead you to it. The contrast of the green, but also line of the shirt. It’s the most rendered thing aside from the mother’s face.
