Not Castlevania though, they just decided to pop off with Maria's design 20 years later because Ayami Kojima and her art is a gift to mankind.

Yes, that's right. Shinkawa did the character design for the main character in LEFT ALIVE, but it didn't really look right when it was made into a game. Once again, I found that Kojima's scenario and Shinkawa's design went very well together.

Mr. Saegusa was likely the same person who designed the figurines that were used for the packaging and advertisement for SD Snatcher. Hideo Kojima was still in possession of those figures while he was still employed by Konami.
