Some of my attempts:
1. Based on the TV series, too muddy and the colours don't go together
2. Based on a palette, too cold and the green doesn't fit
3. Warmer but now the white doesn't fit
4. Bingo. Looks warm, harmonious and even kinda close to the original comic version

blocking out shadows and picking a palette! i don’t actually start with a full palette; i just select some base colors and then pick as i go. when i need a darker value, i add more saturation to keep my darker areas from getting muddy.

I've been obsessed with Avatar Kyoshi since I finished Rise of Kyoshi. Finished Shadows of Kyoshi last week and wanted to paint her!
Still trying to get better with digital painting and so I thought I would try it on a simple pose from reference. It's a bit muddy but I'm happy!

2010’s Ophelia take with Good God. I was trying to push myself with water effects. Looking back it’s more painterly and muddy than intended. Still lovely (GG mostly) but I think this one needs a remake. What do you think?
