i think im pretty much done with this retexture
the eye/teeth shaped markings on the front are emissive so that'll be fun
Some shape key expressions! Due to the way I had set up the face, and cause of the cartoony art style I wanted, these were a pain to make... But I powered through!

Spent almost every moment of my free time today in Blender working on this. I somehow got into the "Zone." Rigging is mostly done! Same with colors and all that! I also messed around with shape keys for expressions, which gives a lot of personality!

btw this is my actual daiten UV, i couldn't edit her chin or the shape of her mouth because i'd have to change every blendshape and i am NOT doing that thanks (2nd pic by smi)

More experimentation with simple shapes and flat colors
The only thing that bothers me is that some of them have the cartoon pie-shaped eyes and some of them have normal looking eyes and there's seemingly no difference between them
I know it's just a design choice and they don't need to be consistent but this fact still bothers me
Designing spaceships based on fish is so fun because they're already shaped ~like that~
