As we round out the first half-century of stunning century-and-a-half-old illustrations from the world's first encyclopedia of deep-sea cephalopods, which upended the belief that life didn't exist in the oceanic depths of this mostly-ocean Earth https://t.co/TDXn0DSzIO

Trying out the demo from "3D Photography using Context-aware Layered Depth Inpainting". Crazy how well that works.

This took a lot longer than I anticipated, but I just finished the third redraw of Charlotte Neilson. This is my first time trying to add more depth to the colors, so I appreciate any artistic advice that could help better understand how to do that.

Probably the most in depth piece I've ever done, and I'm honestly not sure how I pulled this off, lmao. Let's just hope I can stay consistent with this!

This week has been hyper stressful, but here I am trying to catch up with the The blobfish ,Psychrolutes marcidus, lives at depths from 600 to 1200 meters. They are extremely adapted to high pressures, having gelatinous flesh and neutral buoyancy.

Between April 2019 and April 2020 I’ve reworked this piece as I’ve learnt a new skill:

1. Masks
2. Detail
3. Luminance
4. Rendering and depth of field

I feel that I am making painstakingly slow progress, but then old dog, new trick.

I love the depth of your art on both sides!! That likeness is stunning. I absolutely don't indulge myself enough with The Dark Arts these days. I should fix that :0
