Sketching complex backgrounds is a complex process for me. I've found it's easier to paint it than to sketch it as I tend to do everything else in an image.

Fun Fact: This Barbarian piece was easier to do than 's or any other avatar. Portraying people is hard as fuck and I tend to be faster when I can just create a new piece.

I tend to get super pendantic about lines when I draw, so i tried to loosen up a little bit to relax. Lightly redesigning my old monster alligator child. I love things with split jaws and too many teeth

When mapping in perspective from a 2D map that's been lofted to different altitudes, I tend to stick little 10' pins all over the map to help me know how big things are, and which way is 'up'.
