I'd be surprised if he wasn't included in the new game. Attacks using shovel. Dash recovery. Could be cool to see a digging animation with dirt flinging that hits an enemy from a bit of a distance like Mr Game and Watch's pancakes.

Here's a better look at the BG assets I've added to the sewer. Starting with a slight blur, the assets become progressively more blurred/dark as the distance increases, which keeps Skully and level terrain in full focus.
