@Gulipsita yeah! for the background, ill use a variety of patterns, usually lines or dots or whatever would work best, and for the whole image, ill overlay a screentone at low opacity and sometimes use a sort of blurring brush to help with depth (images show before/after processing)

Here's my replacement cosplay project for Gamescom: Issa from #fadetosilence by @BlackForestTeam . There's a lot of parts and details to be done so I'll be very busy for the next couple of months! So far I've mostly been hunting fabrics and I've started making some patterns.
