Compared to other Shonen of the 80s-90s, Dragon Ball was way more lighthearted and fun compared to Fist of the North Star, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Saint Seiya. One Piece and Naruto followed in Dragon Ball’s Footsteps.

The Tone matured but the fun still remained.
