@HungryVen Hachi's "bee form" isn't the final stage of her transformation. It's more of a middle stage currently, since she is kind of missing elements that bees have (like a stinger, wings, etc.)

The snake and daggers are highly represented elements in the world of tattoos. This, like other illustrations that I have prepared, is my little tribute to that world that has influenced me so much when it comes to working.

I wanted to show that vision in the album art, and worked hard around garnering stylistic inspirations from Ottoman and Persian miniature while also inserting symbolic and iconographic visual elements reflecting the status of my culture in our own time.
Anyway, I keep thinking about Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eido Kadono, which is a quiet fantasy/adventure. And we can argue or dissect the elements and emotion, but I would say it’s a quiet book without huge emotional stakes.

A problem Steven Universe always had was that they never gave problematic elements to a characters background to justify their behavior. This was well before the diamonds. These characters had serious flaws and did messed up shit, but never have a reason for it.
