Classic Mega Man in particular is meant to be colorful and heavily anime-inspired. Trying to make it look super realistic and gritty ultimately is just as misguided as trying to make Mario look like this IMO

When I get too picky about my details I remember that fidelity will erase them.

Here's "What the reader will see." vs "what I see on max zoom" I don't do photorealistic like you but the same applies ;P Anyone seeing pencil lines is in your house being creepy.
