I painted these three pictures in 1982, shortly after leaving the army. Soon after I left, my unit was deployed on the Falklands conflict. I felt bereft at the time. The paintings have always spoken to me, by way of a pre-tutored freedom, of those ultimate solitudes.

I'm a big fan of unique coil configurations or the rare 'Reverse wrap' where the tip of the tail braces the feet, leaving thicker coils around the shoulder/head.

I think Morrison's run is the best place to start the modern era. It's a bit wierd for new readers but it sets up Scott and Emma, Xavier leaving... basically the pilars of 2000s X-Men.
