I dig modern Pokemons art direction well enough, but looking back at them, I really miss Ken Sugimori's old art style for Pokemon designs. Always felt like colourings of nature sketches that someone made while observing Pokemon, which fit the tone of the early games so well.

The origins of Maze and Joey's designs.

They came both came a long way in just a span of 2 yrs. Maze was originally named "Yeah Yeah Dog" he was a T Shirt design before he became an OC. Joey was already an OC but I just didn't draw him as much, I revamped him like twice already.
