Bat-like foldable wings with a very long and thick tail to help him balance himself while standing up. Making him able to fly means making him light which won't work out. He can use his wings to hover but that's it. That also make him very weak to attacks from behind

very interesting how my biggest inspiration growing up was Sugar Sugar Rune, an anime that had no real impact on my art style-wise, but its core visual rules of 'evening out space and keeping the weight of the piece balanced' runs through the very fiber of art mentality
