I mean, I assume the fact that it's a remake at all meant they had not much budget, so likely not enough for a Switch remake.
Also, in my opinion, I feel like some animations and expressions wouldn't work as well in 3D as 2D, unless they did a lot of model swap trickery.

It’s an unusual 3/4 model, the main concept was that it’s supposed to look like I’m actually looking at the screen while streaming and not straight at the camera (there’s a screen reflection in the eyes uwu)
