A thing of Spinosaurus I made back in 2020. Still quite relevant apparently xD

(Before you ask, yes! It's inspired by Courage the Cowardly Dog)

Are we talking about Spinosaurus again? I think with how much that's still uncertain about it, one thing is certain. It's a fun starting point for creature designs.

I've just about had enough of this fucking thing

I find it hard to believe that an apex predator with an incredibly niche life style would be incapable of walking properly, or swimming properly.
Unless spinosaurus sat on river beds and snatched prey, I find it unlikely it could’ve hunted efficiently.

Correct answers are 3 & 4. Here are the two animals which I think make up the Spinosaurus chimera. https://t.co/SiFmhRmmpL

One day we’re going to find an (almost) fully articulated, ridiculously well preserved Spinosaurus specimen that got washed out and buried in marine sediment like Borealopelta. When we do a golden age of peace will be upon us.

Think Spinosaurus' legs look kinda wimpy for its size? They are.

Let's dive in (pun intended) to why the current model of Spinosaurus as a bipedal fisher might be taking on water (look at these puns, holy ass).

Spinosaurus is very cool

The deep tail with paddle-like projections described in 2020, on the other hand - has scant evidence connecting it to the larger animal. Clearly, many semi-aquatic dinosaurs lived in the habitat Spinosaurus lived in. Why must every unusual fossil there be lumped into Spinosaurus?

I personally suspect that is a chimera. The tall spines initially described by Ernst Stromer in 1915 clearly come from a tall-spined, Baryonyx-or-Suchomimus-like animal - perhaps a bear-like littoral generalist... -> TBC

Spinosaurus is still a fairly mysterious animal and we don’t have a complete picture of its appearance due to a bunch of convoluted issues too complex for a tweet, but these restorations are based on cutting edge understanding of their life appearance!
