• the story of George Takei's family's imprisonment in a US concentration camp
• the conclusion could be more critical of the US imperialist/anti-immigrant politics but still a captivating read

• a very, VERY short read (~50 pgs)
• cute and friendly for all ages
• a girl with a sword and a princess, need I say more ⚔️👸

12. Night Cry by Borja González

• witches and summoning rituals 🧙‍♀️🕯️
• a dark and minimal but captivating art style that channels the vibe of a small mysterious town in the woods perfectly

8. The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang

• an exploration of gender norms and identity
• beautiful dresses and gowns 👗
• I feel like it's one of the more recommended options on this list, but it truly deserves to be recommended
