A more modern retelling of the nativity. A great reminder of perhaps the most famous refugee of all. A great find in . The story is told from the perspective of the donkey and with a focus on empathy, helping others and kindness. Something we could all do with more of.

The de la Pena was the 1st one I thought of. So many types of love to explore. I'll throw Tadpole's Promise into the hat as a delicious twist, one of my favourite works of art, an often-used bible quote and a classic crooner song.

Some music (with an alternative meaning for "sting"), plus a beautifully illustrated East-African tale. I'd also want to tell the Greek myth of how the bee got its sting.

I had heard lots of good things about Stormy but somehow hadn't realised it was wordless! Finally bought it from It is absolutely beautiful. Really powerful images, great use of light and shade and a heartwarming story too. My bubble loved it last week.
