On the 28th of June 1948, Ken Ishikawa was born. Mentored by the great Go Nagai, Ishikawa would go on to create the iconic Getter Robo franchise in 1974. He sadly passed away on the 15th of November, 2006 due to sudden heart failure.

On the 5th of June 1983, the 1st episode of Plawres Sanshiro aired. It was directed by Kunihiko Yuyama who later became the director of the Pokemon anime. Similar anime like Angelic Layer & Gundam Build Fighters would be made years later.
