@iIymaki most josei series i could think of are very heavy very not lighthearted HWJSH BUT since sktl is seinen READ MACHIDA KUN NO SEKAI they have the same vibes also hirayasumi! <333
Yumi tamura the legendary mangaka who wrote “7 seeds” a survival adventure and psychological manga (it got adapted into an anime on netflix) and “Basara” a shoujo fantasy which is her most highly acclaimed work. (cr this it’s so good)
Urushibara Yuki she wrote “Mushishi” an amazing seinen slice of life series which is on both top manga and anime list in mal and anilist. She also wrote “Suiiki” which is a work that i also really love her artstyle is very distinct too.
Yuki Suetsugu though having several works, her best and popular work so far is “Chihayafuru” which is a manga centered in the traditional japanese sport karuta which i think more people should read/watch.
Takako Shimura she is well known for primarily making LGBTQ+ centered series. her best and well known works are “Wandering Son” and “Aoi Hana” she currently has an ongoing series called “Even though we are adults” and she also illustrated the BL novel cover for “2gether”
Ai Yazawa, (icon tbh) the creator of the popular josei manga series “NANA”. known for her amazing art and fashion design as well as her well written characters. her other acclaimed works are “Paradise Kiss” “Gokinjo Monogatari” and “Tenshi nanka janai”
