@retroscifiart I could have sworn John Berkey had a painting similar to this one -- a spaceship with a bird-like beak rising out of the water in front of a city. But I may have just conflated that Harris with this Berkey, which is similar, but with a shark-like ship instead

Ok, jokes aside, there is a story here. Moore has said he did the left version first and made the foregrounded woman look "irritated" due to the man's gaze. Then, publisher notes made him add sunglasses, which he thinks "diminished that particular effect"
