"In these drawings, my hands are dreaming." noted Man Ray when he described his pen and ink drawings. Intrigued by his friend's haunting compositions, Paul Eluard wrote a poem to accompany each drawing. The result was the book Les Mains Libres (Free Hands) published in 1937.
