Today marks the 50th anniversary of Martial Law, which is considered one of the darkest periods in Philippine history. There were 3,257 extrajudicial killings, 35,000 tortures, and 70,000 incarcerations documented during this time.
Today, we celebrate and honor all mothers, mother figures around the world, and their contributions to our lives and society. Let us dedicate this day by giving thanks and showing them the appreciation they deserve.
