[old art] I decided that I wanted him to be more animalistic in some way to fit him being a weird little monster, testing people’s reception by adding fur tufts in sketches and dropping the idea that he has pawpads, just covers them up somehow because he doesn’t want to be cute

[old art] -to be more serious and more personalized in design, too. What he already had was iconic, but it was safe and had been done a million times over. He’s no longer a cocky string bean mf and is beginning to be fleshed out (pun intended)
