In layman terms: when Monet painted a flower, he was really jazzed up about the 17 shades of red that he liked. He was a formalist; he cared most about shapes and colors and stuff. When Delacroix painted, he was all about the lion tearing apart a human; fuck shapes and colors.

Okay, it’s late and I’m bored; time for #arthistory with Adam. Today I want to talk about a savagely good painter who was a total geek: Eugene Delacroix. Warning, I will be swearing liberally, and some of these pictures have boobs in them.
