Here's the van on the main menu (which is the use case for the work in the tweet above). Because I'm not dragging individual verts around, the uvs aren't stretched in a weird way. A single texture can be applied to all of our skewed models and it looks correct.
Your band's van is customizable in @BattleBandsGame. But the van shows up in different angles across the game, and I didn't want to have to draw the van over and over to cover those angles. So I made it in 3d and then skew the shit out of it for all our use cases. #gameart
Did you know the 2d characters in Battle Bands are actually 3d models? Of course you don't, why would you? #gameart
(OLD WORK) Back when we were working on Beartopia, @sjane4prez did some palette exploration. The environment art is loosely based on the Maine coastline, which is probably evident by all the rocky, autumnal coast reference.
The terrain generator in my hobby project is becoming a nice young boy.
It's randomly super warm (for December in maine) so we took a walk. The marsh and woods smelled nice. The nugget found acorns and rocks.
I feel content and relaxed.
