Natsumi Schwartz, Subaru's Cross-dressing persona is either fetishised or trivialised by most of the fandom. I want to use this thread to elaborate on why there is more to it than that.
Going to start Revue Starlight just because I think these costumes look cool.
My favourite examples if this are Gotham from Batman, Paradigm City from Big O, Yoshiwara from Gintama and Hellsalem's Lot from Kekkai Sensen.
X/1999 by CLAMP is exquisite in it's examination of duality, to save or to condemn, to fight against fate or to accept it as it is, to kill or not to kill.
Duality informs a lot of the story in this manga, but the characters who are caught up within this make up the story(1/?)
Kasane is an extremely engaging read. It's a manga that is not ashamed of having heightened drama, crazy twists and almost soap opera like character motivation. It uses all of that to tell an amazing story.
I finished my reread of Welcome to the Ballroom. I have some books and movies, which I can revisit whenever I want and never get bored. They're my comfort series and Welcome to the Ballroom is one of them.
