Dragon Quest XI has more evidence that all video game characters named Jade are super-cool.
A while back I got a Japanese CD from the 90s filled with Akai Takami's art. It was a little tricky to get the files working on a modern American computer, but I finally got them!
There are some very fun illustrations on there!
I didn't know about Takashi Akaishizawa until I went to Japan last year and happened upon his art on the covers to some old magazines and video games. But now he's one of my favs and I want as much of his work as possible!
(I just got his "Fairyza" art book!)
The Japanese cover for Psychic World is SO GOOD. And the American version is... not.
Sometimes I think about how great Veffidas in Macross 7 is.
She's a Zentradi drummer for the main rock band and even though she has MAYBE 10 lines of dialog in the entire 49-episode series, she's in just about every episode, usually just drumming away.
I see #3FavoriteMutants is trending and I recently got back on my "reading X-Men in chronological order" kick!
1) Storm - the best leader, total badass, she's super-rad
2) Rogue - I like her because she's powerful but distant and sad.
3) Chamber - I got nostalgia for the angst!
Even as a small child, my #firstcartooncrush reveals an interest in nerd-girls. Shock of shocks.
(I don't remember which of these was first, but definitely these three.)
Looking at the Sonic OVA VHS box and thinking about how much more appealing it is than the Sonic movie posters...
