I found the inclusion of the lunar cycle to be very cute, fitting given that the Azuki is deemed a “Spirit Goddess.” In addition, I thought the color scheme (white hair, night sky) complimented with contrasting butterflies was skillfully employed.

Love the pose, the facial expression and the motion imitation depicted with the movement of the kimono—they all come together perfectly in presenting the Azuki in a flattering manner yet with a chilling composure.

What struck me most from first sight was the immediate sense of grace & flow, as if the Azuki was one with her environment and had achieved a degree of inner peace. The highlights and shading do a great job in emphasizing this perception.

Straight up Star Wars vibes! I love how the Azuki is in a contemplative state of mind as she examines her glowing sword—gives a sense of “with great power comes great responsibility.” Very well done with the extent of rendering and lighting!

Love the concept of butterflies coming to life through the handle of the sword, almost as if the Spirit Goddess Azuki is creating life herself! The rendering is also something to note: the character, background & especially the sword were well done.

Absolutely love the direction taken with this derivative! Illustrated in Melloow’s signature style, my favorite aspects include the juxtaposing butterflies, the glow of her eyes as well as the overall “cool” atmosphere of the piece—well done!

While the Azuki was depicted well in this rendition, what caught my attention most were the flowing strands of hair and how they came to swirl around the sword—as the sword itself had me captivated with its rendering style and subtle golden glow.

The centering of the Azuki with the use of the circular backdrop & leaf borders certainly caught my eye! In addition, I thought the Azuki was very elegantly portrayed and I particularly appreciated the effort made towards the fine details of her hair.

A powerful portrayal of my Azuki fitting of the title “Spirit Goddess.” Loved the color palette selection as well as the fragmented glass shards that helped to emphasize the omnipotence being exhibited in this derivative!

Both the Azuki, the sword and the bean all look ready for battle! Loved the combat vibes from the piece, especially the sword-shine that accentuated this theme even more to the forefront. I appreciated the attention to anatomy & perspective as well!
