Even though Mana has forgotten about everything involving youkai, Kitaro's family are still keeping watch on her, to keep her safe.

Worried, and also hopeful that Mana would regain her memories someday...

Kitaro is confused that Mana does not recognize him, or any youkai at all. Then, he remembers what Mana said back at the Land of Unbeing...

As the government's soldiers are about to shoot Tofu-Kozo, Mana's friends come to protect Tofu-Kozo, telling the soldiers to put their gun down.

Agnes and Adele came to tell Nezumi Otoko that Kitaro is at the Land of Unbeing, and they try their best to bring him back.

Nezumi Otoko, being a best friend of Kitaro, just feels really relieved that he's still alive.

However, even though the youkai knows that Backbeard will explode and destroy everything, he insists on keep fighting for the sake of "pride". Nezumi Otoko tries convincing him not to fall into Nurarihyon's trick, but he doesn't seem to mind anymore.

And he disappears, again.
